The Making of Australia is by Robert Murray, a journalist and historian whose widely acclaimed books include The Split: Australian Labor in the Fifties; The Confident Years: Australia in the 1920s; 150 years of Spring Street: Victorian Government from 1850s to 21st Century and Sandbelters: Memoirs of Middle Australia.
Australian history has no agreed starting point and is, of course, unfinished. However, the period from 1788 to 2025 gives us an expansive historical record. First published in 2014, this edition adds another twelve years to the story and gives the opportunity to revise some aspects of the original.
