In his professional career, David Horton published widely and innovatively created the Encyclopaedia of Aboriginal Australia and the wall map Aboriginal Australia. He has since written his memoirs, Beginning’s End and Hammering on the Mind’s Door, and also the poetry collected in this volume. An atheist and a keen student of politics and the environment, he hopes readers will find at least one poem that amuses, challenges, excites, enlightens, educates or informs.
