Community Arts

Description

The notion of community arts is not new in Australia. Indeed, it might be argued—as Martin Comte and David Forrest do in the opening chapter—that the precursors of community arts activities and centres go back to the nineteenth century. The contributors to this book—who represent leaders in the broad community arts field—provide insights into current practices, discuss a range of ongoing issues, and, in some cases, signal possible future directions.
